There is a big yellow ball in the sky today...

It's the sun!  Two days in a row the sun has shone here and it is gorgeous.  So gorgeous we have taken advantage of the nice weather and gone to the park!!!

We found lots to smell and jump over.

We even played in the cold water.

We LOVE the park!  Too bad the sun and warm temperatures are not expected to last....back to the rain, wind, and cold tomorrow :(

My poopies like to destroy...

My poopies believe in the art of destruction.  Just two little examples of what they like to do when they have a few minutes free time in their daily schedule.

Hard to believe these two precious faces would/could do something like this to their mommy....leaving me a mess to clean up.

They look so sweet and peaceful.
Shredding pillows and shredding blankets are priority around this house :)

Mom is still puny...so

we are being our usual destructive selves and sacrificing small, stuffed animals for fun.

It is such hard work...we get so tired...we have to stop mid-rip and take a nap among the stuffing, which mom has to get up and clean.

The job never ends...

NO fun!

Mom and Dad are sick!  So it has been quiet around our house.  No adventures, no play, no running...we keep being told to use our inside voices and inside play.  NO fun!!!
Basically all we do is just look at each other.  Sometimes we go look out the window and whine...no fun.
(The upside is we have gotten extra treats the past few days to keep us busy)

Perfectly said with a paw....

I noticed this morning, while rubbing on my sweetie pie Ava's back, that her paw is a heart :)
God knew what he was doing when he made these poopies of mine...they are my heart.

Snow, breakfast of champions!

This morning we awoke to a little snow.  Not as much as predicted, but snow!  There are flurries right now and it is supposed to continue throughout the day.  Tomorrow...ice is predicted.  (boo ice)

Even at 21 degrees, which is TOO COLD for me, the poopies want to spend the entire day outside playing and eating snow.
For Ava, snow is the breakfast of champions!

A morning chew

The poopies love chewies.  The rawhide strips...those are some of their favorites.  I like to watch them gnawing on a strip....enjoying every chew.  Looking like they are in heaven....or pain, kind of looks like both.  Either way it makes me smile!

Back to work...

for me today.  Vacation ended and I had to leave the kids home and return to the working world :(  I was sad.  What if they were lonely or sad with me gone?

We had spent so many days lounging on the couch together, playing in the snow, getting belly rubs, staying up late watching movies....what if they needed their ears scratched????  Who would be home to do it if I was gone??!!?  It made me sad.

Yes, I sound crazy.

When it was time to leave for home, I rushed to the car, flew home, slid into the house (dumping my purse, coffee mug, gym bag, and lunch box in the dining room and sending cats flying throughout the house) and slung open the garage door.  I needed a puppy hug!

I then proceeded to take their pictures....or tried to take their pictures.  I wasn't getting much cooperation.  Ava looked a little suspicious of me.  I think I missed them more than they missed me. I also think they just wanted treats.

Finley didn't even want to look at the camera!  He acted like I was ruining his undercover gig.

At last, a beautiful shot :)  The treat bribe worked!
Tomorrow is another day away, but someone has to make the chewbone money around here.
Go hug your poopies!

Doggie toy massacre....

Doggie toys begin intact.  Happy little stuffed animals, ready to play.  Then Ava and Finley grab a toy and go crazy.  Out come the eyes, off with the tail and ears.  Next....the gutting.  If there is a squeaker inside, it doesn't last long!
(Notice Finley's nose in the upper corner!)  The little monkey lost his eyes and ears, then his brains.  Ava sleeps with this little guy...he was a quarter thrift store find.  Thrift stores are great places to find doggie toys for me.

The red bear was next in the massacre pile.  They played tug of war with him, then ripped out his eyes and began the zombie attack on his brains.
I felt sorry for him :(

But Donald got the worst treatment last night.  He lost an eye, his shorts, and his brains....all of his dignity was gone!  Then....
...he lost his tail and his belly.  This is the life of a doggie toy in my house.  It is a massacre....a trail of white stuffing throughout the house.  Shredded fabric strewn around the room.
Ava and Finley happy as can be.
